Do you get an error message saying ‘Unknown E-mail Address’ when you try to add someone to Google Analytics?

This occurs because Google insists we use a Google account when accessing their properties – so most people go off and open a gmail account.

STOP! You don’t need to do this. Creating a gmail account results in yet another email address that you forget to monitor regularly.

Instead, you can create a Google Account from an EXISTING email address by taking the following steps:

1. Go to https://accounts.google.com/NewAccount

2. Fill out the details including your existing personal/ work email address

3. Click on Create My account

And Hey Presto! You have just created a Google account from your existing email address. The password that you have just entered into the New Account page which will allow you to access ALL Google properties, and means that you do not have to worry about yet another gmail email account to keep an eye on.

So get cracking- get yourself a Google Account using your current e-mail address!
