The challenge

Create an App to Support Ticket Sales and Validation for Large-Scale Events

The MyTicket team came to Origin to build and develop a ticketing system, originally
for the GAA. It was imperative that the system had a differentiator so that it could stand out from the
crowd and offer users an even greater experience. Local GAA clubs often had challenges with parking allocation at the matches. Not only was this a problem for event organisers, but it was also a problem for the local communities near the stadiums with people parking in unauthorised spots, and also for the police with managing traffic volumes.

The Solution & Outcomes

MyTicket have launched with The Belfast Marathon...

An app was developed that not only allows users to buy tickets for the event with ease, but also provides them with parking allocations to help local communities ease parking congestion. This is great for the user and also for local residents as parking is clearly managed and event goers are not parking in unwanted areas.

Furthermore the app allows users to track their location before the event to ease congestion, so local police can see where any congestion is building and therefore manage that accordingly.

The app has been adapted and rolled out for the Belfast Marathon, with marathon sales up 400% versus the same period in the previous year. A fantastic result for all!
